With a lot of health problems like high blood pressure, bad cholesterol, and over weight I made up my mid that I needed a change in my life. On January 1, 2012 I decided to take care of my self a little better. I stopped drinking alcohol, started eating better and started exercising.
I saw an ad in the newspaper that Dr. Trey would be having a free training two days a week for 8 weeks. I decided to join the group and with the diet and training Dr. Trey advised us on I lost 20lbs and ran in my first 5k.
With the theme “I can do it, I will do it” that Dr. Trey & Becky spoke about, I continued to train with them in the second 8 week program lost another 10lbs and ran in my second 5k in, finished in 25:23 minutes and placed 2nd in my age group 50-59 Years old.
My health has improved 100%. I am on NO medications, and am feeling better than I have ever felt.
Special thank you to Dr. Trey & Becky Himes for all the support, counseling, and dedication you have for me. You are the best team ever and I am an example of your great job.
It’s hard to put into words what the Trainer’s Edge means to me. I have been dabbling in exercise on and off for many years now and have never seen too much success.I stumbled upon Trey and Becky’s website during a Google search for local gyms offering personal training. I jotted down their information and stopped into the gym to check it out and express what I was looking to get out of training. Everything sounded pretty good so I figured “why not?” and signed up for a few sessions with Becky. I really wasn’t expecting too much from her. I figured she’d be gorgeous and have a body to die for (which she does) but other than that I was a little weary, I didn’t think she’d take too much of an interest in me. I don’t know if it’s possible for someone to be more wrong then I was.
From the second she introduced herself to me I knew she was a unique person. She asked me multiple questions regarding my diet and exercise and truly listened to my answers. Then we worked out. By the end of that first session I not only felt like I was going to die but I also felt very hopeful. I have never been “overweight” or the type of person someone would look at and criticize for their weight. But Becky understood where I was coming from and truly committed to assisting me in my transformation. She quickly made me realize I was losing weight for the wrong reasons and if I wanted to work with her I needed to do it for the right reasons. So my new goal became overall health in my life. This meant an entire lifestyle change in my diet and in my exercise. I had to end my lifelong love affair with carbohydrates and throw away this “ideal” number I wanted to weigh and change my habits. With Becky’s encouragement and around the clock help I started keeping food logs, exploring new foods, experimented with new forms of exercise and overall strengthened my mind as well as my body. I have lost 15 lbs and many inches. But that’s not what I focus on. I’m so confident and impressed with myself and how strong my core is. I can now breeze through workouts that a year ago would kick my butt, and I’m overall proud of myself. I truly know now I can do whatever I set my mind to, there are no limitations for me. Becky is such a wonderful person. She will bend over backwards to help you out, and goes above and beyond for her clients. It is apparent that she wants to help you achieve the ultimate level of health and happiness in your own life, and will stop at nothing to get you there.
Trey and Becky Himes are exceptional people. They truly practice what they preach and will never recommend anything to their clients that they wouldn’t use themselves. I see them as America’s very own David and Victoria Beckham. They do not just simply own a gym and train people, they are teachers, support systems, therapists, role models, and above all else friends. They make you feel as though your health is their health. I’m so honored to know them and be able to provide even a sliver of my own experience at the Trainer’s Edge.
Thank you for everything Trey & Becky!
Dear Trey and Becky,
Before I started coming to the Trainer’s Edge, I struggled to get out of bed and face the day. I was not sick but was on the fast track to developing those conditions that come with obesity and aging. I began by changing my diet but knew that exercise was the missing key to my success. I was determined to make the changes needed to get back on the road to good health and happiness.
I began my research with gyms nearby and was not happy with the pushy sales clerks and/or the limited hours of operation. I was so pleased to find the Trainer’s Edge gym with access 24 hours a day and it was less than 2 miles away. The free training session included with my membership made me feel comfortable with the various equipment I can use for cardio and strength building. An added bonus has been the friendly folks I have met along the way who are encouraging with kind words or a simple smile. Finally, I found a gym to call “home”.
As I continue to get stronger, I am thrilled that my clothes are getting bigger and my body is getting smaller. More than 20 inches are gone and will never return. My resting heart rate has dropped from 78 to 60 bpm. The elliptical machine was once my enemy and is now my friend. I stand taller and feel prouder about the work I am doing each day to improve my well being. If I can’t get it there in the morning, I make time at night to get a great workout. I love that I can come to a safe and clean space on my schedule. I have no more excuses!
I know I will reach my goals and have the Trainer’s Edge to thank for helping me on this journey.
Working out is now an important part of my day and I am excited about what’s to come.
Thank you for giving me my life back.
